This is the sort of tragedy of which nothing good can ensue for anyone, nobody can achieve anything. The only thing that happens is death and suffering. I know that the whole world - every country, creed, religion and race - condemns these people. They are not acting for the good of anyone, and their actions are truly evil.
I know that if we all stand together against these losers then we will beat them. When I watched the TV reports yesterday the thing that hit me more than anything was our ability to remain calm and get on with our jobs, and selflessly help others as much as we can. The emergency services and the hospitals were godsends to everyone caught up in the disaster, and I hope that they know just how much the people of our fine nation appreciate them.
In a way, we should pity these terrorists - they will never know the loving spirit we have in our countries, in our communities and friendships, our ability to take such tragedies, get up and move on, ever stronger. And we will.
My thoughs and prayers go out to everyone who has been injured or is grieving, Londoner, British or unhappy visitor, of which there were many. If anything, this tragedy should teach us to reach out and touch people different to us, rather than recoiling in fear and distrust.
Together we are strong.
